You can buy your ham in sliced format; in leg to enjoy slicing it at home with a knife, in Centro Deshuesado if you have a slicing machine, or in convenient sachets to keep in the fridge, perfectly preserved to enjoy your slices whenever you wish.

At Jamones Nevadensis, we make hams of different curing processes, with more or less intensity in the mouth, following artisan processes that safeguard the quality seals such as the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Jamón de Trevélez, or the guarantee mark, Jamón de la Alpujarra. You can also have our Granada Ham with more than 15 months of curing in Centro Deshuesado format, or in convenient slices.

Our hams are made exclusively with pork from selected breeds, sea salt and the most important ingredient, time. The result is a naturally cured ham, without additives or preservatives, and completely free of allergens. Our recipe not only stands out for its purity, but also for its health benefits.
It contains a high concentration of unsaturated fatty acids, especially oleic acid, which is found in olive oil. This type of non-harmful fat is recognised for its ability to reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol and increase HDL (good) cholesterol, thus protecting the cardiovascular system. Depending on the breed of pig, the infiltration capacity of monounsaturated fats into the lean meat will be higher or lower. The Duroc breed is conducive to superior infiltration.
Ham is an excellent source of high quality protein, essential for muscle regeneration and growth. With approximately 31 grams of protein per 100 grams, it is a perfect choice for athletes and people looking to improve their protein intake. In addition, its richness in iron and zinc makes it an ideal food for children’s growth and for maintaining healthy levels of minerals, which are essential for bone health and development.
Our ham is rich in vitamins B1, B3 and B6, essential for the nervous system. B1 helps the brain and heart function properly, while B3 is involved in growth and obtaining energy from food. Vitamin B6, together with healthy fatty acids, contributes to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and the regulation of blood cholesterol levels.
Thanks to its iron content and other nutrients, cured ham is an ally in preventing osteoporosis and arteriosclerosis, especially protecting bone mass during the menopause and in old age. Consumed from childhood, it helps reduce the likelihood of developing these conditions later in life.
Despite its exquisite taste, ham only provides around 160 calories per 100 grams, which makes it a suitable choice for weight control diets. With a low carbohydrate content, it is also ideal for low-carbohydrate diets such as ketogenic diets.

As for studies that endorse these benefits, research such as that carried out by the University of Extremadura has demonstrated the positive effects of the monounsaturated fatty acids present in cured ham, especially in cardiovascular protection. The nutritional value of their high protein and B vitamins, essential for mental and physical health, has also been recognised.
