Measures Adopted ODS
Measures adopted under the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
At Jamones Nevadensis we are deeply committed to sustainability and respect for the environment.
That is why we have aligned our actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), actively contributing to a more balanced and just future.

SDG 7 Affordable and clean energy
One of our key pillars is the use of photovoltaic energy to cover a large part of our energy needs. Thanks to this renewable energy source, we have managed to reduce our carbon emissions by 60%. Our long-term goal is to reach zero emissions by 2030, which not only reduces our environmental impact, but also promotes a sustainable and responsible energy model.
SDG 12 Responsible production and consumption
Our commitment to the circular economy is reflected in the implementation of recycling and reuse systems in our production processes. We use recycled materials in our packaging and work constantly to optimise our resources, minimising waste at every stage of production. In addition, all our products are made without the use of additives or artificial preservatives, contributing to a more natural and healthy diet.
SDG 13 Climate action
At Nevadensis Hams, we understand the urgency of acting on climate change. In addition to our solar energy initiatives, we have taken steps to reduce our carbon footprint throughout our operations. From optimising transport routes to using traditional curing methods that take advantage of natural environmental conditions, every step is designed to minimise environmental impact.
SDG 15 Life of terrestrial ecosystems
Our location in the Sierra Nevada National Park not only provides us with a privileged environment for the natural curing of our hams, but also reminds us of the importance of protecting and preserving local ecosystems. By following traditional and sustainable processing practices, we help to conserve this unique environment and maintain the natural balance of the region.
SDG 8 Decent work and economic growth
As a family-owned company, at Jamones Nevadensis we value dignified employment and the well-being of our community. We strive to create fair and safe working conditions for our employees, promoting an inclusive environment and continuous professional development. In addition, we collaborate with local suppliers and small businesses to foster economic growth in our region, always following the principles of ethics and social responsibility.

At Jamones Nevadensis, we understand that sustainability is more than a trend: it is a responsibility. Every measure we implement, from our use of renewable energy to our responsible production practices, is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals to ensure that our actions have a positive impact both now and in the future.
We are also involved with a more natural diet, which is why we continue to use only sea salt in all our hams, knowing that the fact of not using nitrates/nitrites increases the percentage of discarded pieces, a percentage that we reduce year after year through the appropriate selection of raw materials, given that we work with historical suppliers, and the artisan processes in the curing of pieces guaranteed by people who have spent a whole professional career within Jamones Nevadensis.
